In an open economy, exports are the final competitive benchmark. Tomorrow’s winners will be companies which can compete at the global stage. India’s export performance has lagged behind many of its Asian competitors so far, though there are finally signs of improvement now. In recent years, some success stories among companies and sectors have emerged. Home décor products could well be the latest- infrastructure problems are already been addressed and quality is quickly becoming the only benchmark.
The Economic Times Intelligence Group (ETIG) is organizing a Knowledge Forum titled Global Sourcing: Making India the preferred destination for Home Décor on August 11, 2005 where an eminent panel of industry leaders will talk on making India the preferred sourcing hub and discuss various ways and means of boosting exports of the wide range of home décor products.
The forum will be of interest to India’s business leaders, given the rising importance of India becoming a preferred sourcing centre for every Indian home décor company.
